1. PhoneMiser: Finds the Cheapest Phone Rates Fast.
Business owners wrestling with out-of-control long-distance phone charges may
find solace in this $99 device from MediaCom. Each time you make a call,
PhoneMiser searches a database of 200 long-distance phone companies to find the
carrier offering the lowest rate at that particular point in time and routes the call through that carrier.
All this in less than a second, according to a PC Magazine review.
2. Domino Go Webserver: Flexible Feature Set.
PC Week Labs gave thumbs up to Lotus Development Corp.'s Domino Go, touting its
depth of administrative options, flexible feature set and wide platform
support. At $495, it's well-suited for corporate intranets or small public Web sites.
3. Net-It Now, Version 1.6: Print Java Documents From Your Browser.
Last year's Net-It Now let you convert almost any application's output into
Java for Web publishing without plug-ins. This latest version lets you print
Java documents from your browser -- and customize with pop-ups, sticky notes, text.
4. Medley97: Networking Alternative for Small Businesses.
By aggregating parts of the individual hard disks of networked computers into a
large virtual drive -- Mango's Medley97 offers an alternative to traditional
networking for small businesses. However, Windows Sources notes it's a
pricey alternative at $899 for a 5-person starter pack.
5. ATM Deluxe 4.0: Manage Text and Fonts.
This latest version of Adobe Type Manager Deluxe for Windows NT lets Web page
designers install, manage and work with Type 1 and TrueType fonts. ATM Deluxe
4.0 ($69.95) ships with 30 Adobe fonts.
