Ramp Networks and Mango Bring Web Caching to the WebRamp 350e

Combination Delivers up to 30 Times Faster Internet Access

Santa Clara, CA - January 31, 2000: Mango, Inc. (NASDAQ BB: MGOF), developers of innovative software that leverages PC desktop systems to improve your Internet experience, and Ramp Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: RAMP), a leading provider of easy-to-use, shared Internet access devices, today announced a technology partnership to cost-effectively deliver improved Internet access speeds to small and medium size businesses. Under terms of the agreement, MangoSoft's patent-pending web cache solution, CacheLink will be included in Ramp's WebRamp 350e Internet access device. By combining Ramp's Connection Optimized Link Technology with Mango's CacheLink software, users will now be able to benefit from up to 30 times increased performance for Internet access over analog lines.

Ramp's Connection Optimized Link Technology extends the benefits of analog technology by combining the bandwidth of up to three regular telephone lines and modems to deliver three times the speed of a single connection, as well as allowing multiple users to simultaneously access the Internet. Mango's CacheLink efficiently links the individual browser caches in each PC on the network into a single cache pool for all systems. CacheLink then retrieves frequently viewed web pages from the pooled-cache on the LAN instead of the Internet, saving both time and bandwidth. The combined WebRamp and CacheLink solution cuts costs and improves the performance of office PCs accessing the Internet.

"Once again Ramp has extended analog functionality by essentially achieving broadband speeds with analog lines.' Our customers will benefit from the addition of the CacheLink software in our WebRamp 350e product because in many areas DSL is not immediately available, yet customers are increasingly hungry for more bandwidth," said John Humphreys, vice president of Ramp's access product unit. "Additionally, CacheLink will be included with the WebRamp 350e at no extra charge, making it a great combination of Internet access, access controls, desktop faxing, and Web caching."

Performance measurements show WebRamp with CacheLink delivers cached web content, on average, up to 30 times faster than downloading new web pages over a 56K connection. Unlike proxy servers or Web-cache hardware, there is no need to manually reconfigure complex browser connection settings since CacheLink configures popular browsers automatically.
