Mango, Inc. Adds Donald A. Gaubatz to Senior Management Team
Industry Veteran Joins Developer of Internet Enhancement Products
Westborough, MA - February 14, 2000: Mango, Inc. (NASDAQ BB: MGOF), developers of innovative software that leverages PC desktop systems
to improve your Internet experience, today announced that Donald A.
Gaubatz has joined the company as senior vice president and chief
operating officer. Gaubatz, who has served on Mango's advisory board, will
be responsible for corporate operations and engineering.
Mango also announced today the promotion of James M. Stark to senior
vice president of sales and marketing. Stark will lead the company's
renewed focus on building partnerships and strategic alliances with
leading Internet infrastructure companies to bring Mango's products to
market. Mango recently announced major partnerships with Ramp Networks and
USOnline in support of its CacheLink product.
"Don's proven ability to bring major systems products to market
with the support of a wide range of partners will have a significant
impact on Mango's continued success," said Dale Vincent, president
and CEO, Mango. "His deep management experience and entrepreneurial
expertise will increase our visibility among our target markets of small
to large companies looking to optimize the Internet to improve
productivity."
"This is a natural fit for me - from my work experience with many
startups I knew that the demand for enhanced PC performance was exploding,
and from my work with Mango's advisory board it became obvious that Mango
is the emerging leader in caching technology and next generation file
services," said Gaubatz. "Mango has clearly figured out how to
optimize network bandwidth using existing PCs and Internet
connections."
Prior to joining Mango, Gaubatz did independent investing and
consulting, working with development stage companies in networked video,
optical and wireless networking. From 1978 to 1994, Gaubatz held numerous
positions at Digital Equipment Corporation including vice president of
workstations and servers where he oversaw business, marketing and
engineering for his groups in New England and Silicon Valley. He
introduced the company's first RISC and 3D graphics workstations, the
first interactive video products, and the first Alpha workstations.
Gaubatz holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Cambridge University in
England and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in
St. Louis.
