Executives from seven leading storage and Internet companies explain their roles in emerging industry in advance of Gilder Storewidth 2001 Conference

Westborough, MA - April 3, 2001: Seven executives of the world's leading storage and Internet companies gathered today in Boston to explain their roles in the emerging storewidth industry in advance of the first industry conference hosted by Gilder Publishing, LLC in Dana Point, California April 10-12. Among the companies participating in the Boston meeting were Amdahl Software, Giant Loop, Mangosoft, Mirror Image, NetForecast, Storability, and StorageNetworks.

The event, hosted by Mangosoft, Inc., provided an overview of the present landscape of the storewidth industry from the perspective of the companies that are leading its growth. Storewidth was first identified by George Gilder, Chairman of Gilder Publishing, LLC and author of the Gilder Technology Report, as the new Internet architecture where abundant bandwidth converges with mass data storage to provide swift and reliable access to information.

"The emergence of storewidth marks a critical milestone in the history of Internet technology and our companies are excited to be at the forefront of that growth," said Dale Vincent, CEO of Mangosoft, a provider of Internet-enabling software and services based in Westborough, Mass. "Storewidth promises to forever change the way the world accesses and shares information, transforming the Internet into the reliable, efficient and useful tool we have long hoped it would be."

The Storewidth Industry Conference will feature the longstanding giants of storage and the pioneers of storewidth who will gather for three days to discuss trends and advances in the field. Executives from Novell, Exodus, Network Appliance, EMC, Inktomi, Sun and Veritas will share the stage with Mangosoft, BlueArc, Scale Eight, Nishan Systems, and TrueSAN. In addition to an address by Mangosoft's Scott Davis, keynotes will include EMC's Mike Ruettgers, StorageNetworks' Bill Miller, Eric Schmidt of Novell and Google, Network Appliance's Kevin Brown, and Sun Vice President Janpieter Scheerder.

"The high level of involvement in this conference is evidence of the vast importance these companies place on the storewidth industry and the significant impact it could have on their bottom line," said George Gilder. "As today's East Coast event confirmed, the most senior executives at the world's leading storage and Internet companies are invested in the emergence of storewidth. We look forward to hearing their ideas and outlook in the coming days in California."
