Incorrect Network Settings Can Impair CacheLink Performance

Incorrect Network Settings Can Impair CacheLink Performance

If you notice that some computers exhibit slower pooled access times than others, please confirm that the slower computers have correct network settings.

Correcting network settings will improve the performance of all network-based applications.

Solution/Work-around

The following network settings need to be correct for best CacheLink performance:

DNS Configuration settings
Make sure that the DNS server settings for each TCP/IP entry that appears in the Network Control Panel are consistent and correct across your computers.

WINS Configuration settings
Make sure that the WINS server settings for each TCP/IP entry that appears in the Network Control Panel are consistent and correct across your computers.

Network adapter list
Make sure that every network adapter that appears in the Network Control Panel is actually present.  Delete those that are not present.
